At the Highlands Day Spa, we strive to provide a relaxed and positive atmosphere for your spa experience. Our professional staff members are polite, friendly and attentive to your needs. Below are our Spa Policies and basic Spa Etiquette to help you get the most from your spa visit.

Spa Policies

Spa Hours: The Highlands Day Spa is open six days a week. 9 am to 9pm Tuesday through Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm on Sunday, closed Monday. Our Coeur d’Alene Location has temporary hours of Wednesday - Saturday, 10am to 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

Credit Cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards are accepted. We do not accept Spa-Finder or internet spa coupons, unless they have been issued by the Highlands Day Spa.

Pregnancy: We would love to be a part of your journey to motherhood and help you relax or relieve any discomfort. Please keep in mind that we are unable to perform any services on expectant mothers that are within the first trimester, or under 12 weeks. Should you book yourself a service and be under the 12 week limit, we will have to refuse service and charge a 50% service fee. We do not perform massages longer than 55 Minutes during pregnancy. This is in an effort to protect the health of your baby and you. If you book a 90 Minute Massage for yourself, or any other unapproved pregnancy services (body wraps) we will offer you a replacement service if available. If you decide you do not want any of the replacement services, we will cancel services and apply a 50% cancellation fee to your card on file.

Inappropriate Behavior: We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone disrupting the tranquility of our spa or disrespecting our spa policies. Guests who are loud, rude, or disrespectful, even after being politely requested to respect others, will be asked to leave and charged 100% of their service. We have a zero-tolerance policy for disrespect, aggression, or sexual harassment toward our staff. Any form of harassment will result in immediate removal and a permanent ban from Highlands Property. Thank you for helping us maintain a harmonious and enjoyable space for everyone.

Appointments: To schedule an appointment, call 208.773.0773 for our Post Falls location, or 208-930-0524 for our Coeur d’Alene Location. You can also book appointments online in Post Falls or Coeur d’Alene. Pre-booking appointments is recommended. We are open six days a week with extended evening hours for your convenience. Some special offers have space limitations, so we encourage you to book quickly when specials are announced. All services require a credit card on file to reserve an appointment. Please check out with us at the Front Desk at the end of your service to ensure proper payment. Unclosed tabs will be charged to the card on file with a 20% gratuity. The Highlands Day Spa reserves the right to refuse service.

Cancellations: We require a 24 hour cancellation notice to avoid charges. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your service, you will be charged a 50% service fee. No Shows incur a 100% service fee. Spa parties and large groups greater than 6 require a 48 hour cancellation notice.

Spa Etiquette

Gift Certificates: The Highlands Day Spa offers gift certificates for most services and spa packages. Gift certificates for services expire six (6) months from the date of purchase, after which they are only redeemable for their cash value. Cash Value gift certificates never expire. They can be transferred to another person, but they are non-refundable. You must bring in your gift certificate when receiving your service to redeem it. Purchase a Gift Certificate online.

Spa Parties: Require a minimum of 6 people. Reservations must be secured in advance with a credit card. You will be charged for the number of guests that are booked 24 hours in advance of the party. If a guest needs to cancel, please notify us 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged. If your guest list drops below the 6 person requirement, you will still be charged for 6 participants. No alcoholic beverages may be brought in to the party. All alcohol must be purchased from The Highlands Day Spa. Any guest who brings in alcohol will be asked to leave without refund of service. Non-alcoholic beverages and food are permitted. In Post Falls, if anyone in your party is under 21 years of age you will not be able to order alcohol to your party.

Children: The Highlands is a place for you to escape and unwind. We know young children want to experience the spa just like you, but unfortunately we do not have an environment suited for children. The Highlands in Post Falls offers a select few services to those under 12, including a 30 Minute Massage, an Express Facial, a Manicure or Pedicure or our Personal Spa Party package. Those over 12 can receive full length services, but anyone under 18 will need to have a parent or guardian in the room at all times. It is not permitted to drop guests off that are younger than 18 to receive their services without supervision of a guardian. If you are unable to stay for your child’s service, we will need to reschedule or cancel your service and you will be charged 100%. Anyone under 21 will be able to wait for their service in our locker room, and will not be able to utilize the sauna due to our alcohol service areas and Idaho State Alcohol Laws. Children need to be attended by an adult at all times and reminded to respect the relaxation of the other guests around them. Overly boisterous guests will be asked to leave. Children are only allowed in the spa if they are receiving services to respect the relaxation of other guests, which includes infants. Our Coeur d’Alene location is 21 and over only, and if appointments are booked online for a guest who is under 21 at this location, we will unfortunately have to refuse service and also charge 100%.

Service Animals: In accordance with ADA law, service animals are welcome at our spa. However, emotional support animals and other pets are not permitted in our cosmetology establishment. If a service animal disrupts the relaxation or environment in any way, the owner will be asked to leave and charged a 50% service fee.

Contraindications: Please be aware that certain health conditions may prevent us from performing specific services. It is important to notify the front desk of any health concerns at the time of booking so we can determine if the service can be safely provided. For example, massages cannot be performed during the first trimester of pregnancy. Certain prescriptions, such as Accutane, will contraindicate waxing and certain facial treatments, and conditions like foot fungus will prevent us from offering pedicures. If you arrive for your appointment with a contraindication, we will attempt to offer an alternative service if available. However, if no suitable alternatives can be provided, the appointment will need to be canceled, and a 50% service fee will be charged.

Arrival: To ensure you have a truly relaxing and indulgent spa experience, we kindly request your punctuality and preparedness for your scheduled appointment. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your appointment time. If you plan to enjoy our steam room prior to your treatment, please aim to arrive no later than 30 minutes in advance. This not only maximizes your enjoyment but also allows us to provide your complete service time. For your convenience, please be fully ready for your service before the scheduled appointment time. This includes changing into your plush robe and utilizing the restroom. While we strive to offer you the full service time you deserve, regrettably, tardiness may impact our ability to guarantee the entirety of your service time if you are not prepared at the appointed start time. Your comfort and satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us, and we appreciate your cooperation in helping us provide you with the best spa experience possible.

Cell Phones: Turn off your phone or switch to silent mode. No cell phone use out loud in our waiting areas.

Valuables: Please leave valuables at home. The Highlands will not be responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items.

Conversation: Be considerate of other spa guests by holding conversations in a quiet voice. This includes time spent in the steam rooms.

Communication: Relax and let the therapist or technician know of any special needs during your treatment. This includes pressure, comfort, or any parts of your body you want focused on or that you don’t want worked on.

Feedback: We encourage our guests to provide feedback during their service or immediately after their appointment, either to the service provider, receptionist, or management. Your satisfaction is our priority, and addressing concerns in real-time allows us to ensure the best possible experience. Please note, we are unable to offer refunds or compensation once the guest has left the premises, and we do not accept complaints made by third parties on behalf of a guest.

Gratuity: Gratuity is not included for spa services, with the exception of Spa Parties. Our goal is to provide you with excellent service, but gratuities are always appreciated. The typical amount to tip is 15% to 20% of the cost of the service.
